Finwise School is an edtech start-up dedicated to transforming financial literacy into an engaging and practical journey. It offers a gamified platform where users learn money management, budgeting, investing and decision-making through interactive modules, games and real-world simulations. Its unique approach keeps learners motivated with evolving avatars, points and redeemable rewards.
Alongside its B2C offering, the company provides B2B solutions by integrating personalised financial education dashboards into schools and universities. The platform also fosters community engagement, enabling users to share knowledge, discuss queries and participate in quizzes and competitions.
Founded in 2024, Finwise School aims to bridge the financial knowledge gap for students and young adults, empowering them with the confidence and skills to make smarter financial decisions. By combining education, gamification and community-driven learning, it is building a new standard for financial literacy in the UK and beyond.
Finwise School was created to address a global challenge: the lack of financial literacy among young people. Although money is part of everyday life, skills such as budgeting, saving and investing are rarely taught, leaving students and young adults unprepared to make confident financial decisions. Its mission is to make financial education accessible, engaging and fun, helping learners build practical skills for real life.
The idea came from co-founders Rakshit Jain and Simran Taneja. Rakshit, with a background in psychology and a Master’s degree in finance from the UK, had previously taught financial literacy in schools in India, gaining first-hand insight into the impact and limitations of traditional teaching methods. Simran, with experience in private equity and start-ups, shares a passion for empowering people through finance and brings strong operational expertise, complementing Rakshit’s vision.
Finwise School uses gamification, simulations and interactive modules instead of lectures or textbooks. Its flagship module, Budget Boss: Gen-Z Edition, lets users manage virtual income, expenses and decisions in a game-like environment. Learners progress by levelling up avatars, earning points and unlocking rewards, turning financial learning into an engaging, motivating journey.
Currently in Phase 2, the app is complete and set for a September pilot launch to test functionality, gather feedback and refine the experience. It also features community spaces, quizzes and competitions to encourage engagement and learning. While future expansion includes partnerships with schools and universities, the immediate focus is on building a strong B2C foundation.
From early teaching experience to co-founding a dynamic start-up, Finwise School is transforming financial education into something interactive, practical and fun for young learners everywhere.
