The Edinburgh Centre for Financial Innovations at the University of Edinburgh Business School is organising the Edinburgh Financial Technology Conference to stimulate debate and research on financial innovation and the digital economy and how they impact welfare. The conference brings together academics, policymakers, and finance professionals to share new insights and discuss the economic issues related to the application of technology to the practice of finance in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

 

Clare Reid, Strategic Innovation Director at FinTech Scotland will chair a panel on "How regulation is helping drive technological innovation in financial service". The panel will explore the ways in which regulation can act as a catalyst for innovation in financial services. The panel will draw on the experiences of the award-winning Financial Regulation Innovation Lab and of fintech and academic collaborators in addressing issues of technological adoption to simplify compliance and improve consumer outcomes.
