LayawayGo

Glasgow

LayawayGo Ltd is a Scottish fintech building a Save Now Buy Later (SNBL) platform, a debt-free alternative to Buy Now Pay Later. Users set a goal, such as a laptop, a trip or a graduation outfit, and save for it with their own money. No credit, no interest and no fees for savers.

Our patent-pending AI MatchBuy™ engine (UK application 2622761.1) turns each goal into purchase intent: what, budget, timing and location. When a goal is ready, it runs a consumer-led reverse auction. LayawayGo merchants compete with discounts and rewards, and MatchBuy ranks offers on price, timing, distance and reliability. Scoring is transparent, merchants cannot buy the top spot, and the user always chooses.

Savers get a clear plan, nudges that keep them on track and a better price. Merchants, especially independents, reach customers who have already saved and pay only when a sale completes.

We are not a lender. Balances are held through regulated payment providers and purchases are paid in the merchant’s own checkout. To give choice from day one, MatchBuy is designed to also show products from Shopify stores. Users save for free; revenue comes from a 4 to 6% MatchBuy fee, affiliate commission, sponsored goals, merchant insight subscriptions and white-label licences.

Supported by £122,000 of Scottish Government Proof of Concept funding, Barclays Eagle Labs and Google Cloud for Startups, we have more than 10 merchants and pilot partners at the Universities of Strathclyde and Dundee and Thammasat University. Our technology is a field-tested proof of concept (TRL 5), and we are raising a £300,000 pre-seed round to launch in Scotland in early 2027.

LayawayGo began with a question: why is it easier to borrow for something than to save for it? Buy Now Pay Later made spending money people don’t yet have effortless, while saving brought no reward. Savers’ money sat in pots with no link to what they wanted, and they still paid full price. [Add one sentence on the founder’s personal moment.]

We also saw small merchants paying upfront for adverts to reach customers who might never buy. The two problems fitted together: a saver with a clear goal is the strongest buying signal there is. If merchants could compete for that demand early, saving would finally be rewarded. That became Save Now Buy Later, powered by AI MatchBuy™.

LayawayGo Ltd was founded in [year] by Milad Armani D. A team formed around the idea across finance, technology, analytics, partnerships and marketing, supported by advisors in banking, innovation, marketplaces and IP.

We started by testing the problem, with research among more than 1,200 young people in three countries on how they save, borrow and plan big purchases. It focused us on big moments such as travel, events and graduation.

The turning point was £122,000 of Scottish Government Proof of Concept funding. It took us from research to a field-tested proof of concept, the MatchBuy reverse auction and a UK patent application. We joined the Barclays Eagle Labs scale-up programme and received Google Cloud for Startups credits.

We then built the partnerships for a real pilot: more than 7 merchants, plus the Universities of Strathclyde and Dundee and Thammasat University. We redesigned the app and planned a Shopify integration so savers get wide choice from day one.

Today LayawayGo is pilot-ready, raising a £300,000 pre-seed round to launch in Scotland in early 2027.
