Real Intelligence

Real Intelligence is a Scottish technology company developing a decision-support platform that helps organisations understand the operational consequences of change before committing to it.

Organisations invest in technology, automation, process redesign and workforce transformation based on expected improvements. However, complex organisations operate as interconnected systems. Improving one part of a workflow can move a constraint elsewhere, create new bottlenecks or increase downstream workload, meaning a successful intervention does not always produce the expected organisational benefit.

Real Intelligence addresses this by modelling operational workflows, identifying constraints and allowing organisations to simulate proposed changes and alternative decisions. Rather than simply asking whether a technology works, we ask: what happens to the wider operating system when it does?

This creates a quantitative layer for organisational change. Decision-makers can compare scenarios, see where constraints are likely to move and identify interventions most likely to improve overall system performance before committing significant resources.

AI is an important immediate application because it can dramatically change the speed, cost and volume of individual activities. Real Intelligence enables organisations to assess these investments at system level rather than measuring individual tools in isolation.

The methodology is sector-agnostic and has been explored across healthcare, financial services, legal services, defence and other complex environments.

Our long-term ambition is to provide an independent decision-support layer that enables organisations to model consequences, compare choices and quantify operational advantage before implementing change.

Real Intelligence began in January 2025 from a simple observation: AI was enabling a small team to build and test technology at a speed and cost that previously required significant technical resources.

Rather than starting with a fixed product, we adopted an AI-first approach: identify real operational problems, rapidly build solutions, test them and follow the evidence. An initial platform was developed within months, with our first real-world pilot in June 2025.

That experimentation exposed a more fundamental problem. As organisations adopted AI and automation, attention focused primarily on whether the technology worked. We became interested in a different question: what happens to the wider organisation when it does?

Our work showed that improving the speed or capacity of one activity could simply move the constraint elsewhere, creating new bottlenecks, workload or costs downstream. A technology could therefore succeed while the organisation failed to realise the expected benefit.

During 2025 and 2026 we explored this problem across financial services, legal workflows, healthcare and public-sector operations. Healthcare pathway modelling was particularly valuable, demonstrating how operational friction could be identified and how interventions at one stage could affect capacity elsewhere.

This led to a broader insight: AI is one example of a much larger challenge. Organisations constantly make changes involving technology, workforce, processes and capacity but have limited ability to model how those decisions will propagate through an interconnected system.

Today, Real Intelligence is developing a decision-support platform that identifies constraints, models proposed changes and allows alternative scenarios to be tested before resources are committed.

We are now moving from exploration into structured validation and commercialisation, with the ambition of giving organisations the ability to model change before experiencing its consequences.

He has driven Real Intelligence from initial concept through rapid AI-first development and real-world validation, shaping its focus on constraint modelling and system-level decision support. His role combines product leadership with identifying operational problems across sectors and translating them into practical applications for the Real Intelligence platform.
