Larimar Pay is a UK-based fintech building a faster, more transparent way to send money between the UK and Latin America. Focused on underserved remittance corridors, the platform enables users to transfer funds through a simple, mobile-first experience, reducing hidden FX margins and high transaction fees common in traditional providers.

Leveraging digital payment rails and messaging-based interfaces, Larimar Pay is designed to make cross-border payments more accessible for diaspora communities while increasing the amount received by families and small businesses in Latam. The company is currently in pre-launch, with a revenue model based on low, transparent fees and competitive exchange rates.

Larimar Pay’s mission is to modernise remittances by combining fintech innovation with a strong social impact, reducing financial inequality and improving economic outcomes in emerging markets.

Larimar Pay was born from a personal frustration. Our founder, as a Latin American immigrant in the UK with a background in fintech,  experienced first-hand how difficult and expensive it can be to send money back home. Despite working in an industry built to move money efficiently, he found himself relying on outdated remittance providers with hidden FX margins, slow settlement times, and limited transparency.

What stood out even more was how underserved the Latin American diaspora is in the UK. While larger communities, particularly across African and Asian corridors, have seen significant innovation, better pricing, and tailored financial products, Latin America remains largely overlooked. The assumption seems to be that the market is too small to prioritise, leaving many with fewer choices and higher costs.

This gap isn’t just inconvenient, it has real consequences. For many families, remittances are essential for covering everyday expenses, supporting education, or handling emergencies. Every pound lost in fees or poor exchange rates is money that doesn’t reach the people who need it most.

We see an opportunity to build something better. Larimar Pay is designed to challenge the status quo by offering a faster, more transparent, and mobile-first way to send money between the UK and Latam. By focusing on efficiency, fair pricing, and accessibility, the goal is to ensure that more money reaches recipients, not intermediaries.

Ultimately, Larimar Pay exists to serve a community that has been overlooked for too long, combining personal experience with industry expertise to deliver a solution that is both commercially viable and socially impactful.
