Tokenive is a verification infrastructure company building a unified trust layer for digital systems, enabling institutions to replace manual, document-based verification with instant cryptographic validation of user data. Today, high-stakes verification across financial services, real estate, and other regulated sectors relies on PDFs, scans, and human review. These processes are slow, costly, and increasingly vulnerable to AI-generated forgeries.
Tokenive’s core product, Tokenive VC, transforms this model by allowing users to retrieve data directly from authoritative sources such as banks, government portals, and utility providers. This data is converted into verifiable credentials with selective disclosure, enabling institutions to instantly validate authenticity without relying on documents or manual checks. This reduces verification time, cost, and fraud risk while improving auditability and user experience.
The platform integrates via APIs into existing systems, requiring no changes to source infrastructure. This makes Tokenive deployable as a drop-in verification layer within compliance, onboarding, and risk workflows. The initial focus is on high-frequency use cases such as identity, address, income, and employment verification in regulated environments.
Beyond this, Tokenive extends into tokenized assets and AI systems. Tokenive DART enables privacy-preserving, compliance-compatible asset issuance and transfer on blockchains, while Tokenive VAI enables verifiable, policy-controlled interactions between AI agents. Together, these form a broader trust infrastructure for identity, assets, and digital interactions.
Tokenive is in early-stage pilot deployments with institutional partners and has secured non-dilutive funding from Scottish Enterprise. The team brings deep expertise in cryptography, fintech, and large-scale systems engineering, positioning the company to build foundational infrastructure for secure, privacy-preserving digital systems.
The company’s origin is closely tied to the founder’s journey. After an initial startup failure, he deliberately focused his PhD at the University of Edinburgh on solving real-world problems at the intersection of cryptography, privacy, and financial systems. Over more than 5 years of deep research and subsequent industry experience (including leading cryptography R&D efforts) he worked on systems addressing privacy, compliance, and scalability in decentralized environments. This highlighted a clear gap: while strong cryptographic guarantees exist in theory and protocol design, real-world verification workflows still rely on weak, document-based processes.
Tokenive was founded to bridge this gap by replacing document-based verification with cryptographic verification derived directly from authoritative sources. Instead of uploading documents, users retrieve their data from trusted platforms such as banks or government portals and convert it into verifiable credentials. This enables instant, machine-verifiable evidence without manual inspection.
The team focused on a narrow initial product, Tokenive VC, targeting high-frequency workflows such as identity, address, income, and employment verification. This allowed rapid progress from concept to early validation through real-world use cases, with industry engagement confirming strong demand.
The company secured a competitive grant from Scottish Enterprise, providing early validation and support, and is now working with pilot partners to integrate into live workflows and measure impact.
Today, Tokenive is an early-stage infrastructure company moving from prototype to deployment, with a long-term vision of becoming the trust layer for identity, assets, and digital interactions.
