ICEFLO

Scottish Borders

ICEFLO is a cloud-based software solution provider based at Tweed Horizons Business Centre in the Scottish Borders. Recognised by Gartner as a Cool Vendor in DevOps, ICEFLO, is the #1 cloud-based collaboration platform to build, rehearse, deploy and review technology cutover plans.

ICEFLO replaces the need for spreadsheets, emails, instant messages, conference calls and management “war rooms” that are typically used to coordinate activities in these complex and critical scenarios and offers a number of client benefits.

Enhanced Global Collaboration

Large-scale, technology deployments or ‘cutovers’ typically involve geographically dispersed teams from multiple organisations. Unlike previous methods, ICEFLO allows this disparate group of participants to collaborate effectively from anywhere in the globe. The Cloud platform enables all users to log in and participate in building, rehearsing, deploying and reviewing plans in real time- providing one transparent and consistent view of the cutover event.

Increased Confidence and Control

A key benefit of ICEFLO is the real-time forecasting engine, which provides your cutover team and key stakeholders with accurate, contemporary instrumentation on the progress of any deployment. Dynamic visualisations and alerts provide decision makers with the information required to make confident judgement calls on progressing forward or backing out of the event. ICEFLO helps to avoid the damaging consequences of financial and operational impact, reputational damage and regulatory breaches that are famously associated with service outages, allowing clients to achieve a greater confidence prior to the event and more certainty of successful delivery.

Reduced Risk of Cutover Failure

ICEFLO places the safeguarding of service availability at the top of the priority list.
Tackle even the most complex deployments, safe in the knowledge that all emerging risks to service are being diligently managed.

Increased Delivery Performance

The increased runbook quality, confidence and control provided by ICEFLO leads to more “go-decisions”. More go-decisions lead to higher change delivery throughout, meeting strategic business change requirements while effectively managing operational risks.

Increased Resource Optimisation

Deployments typically consume huge amounts of manpower, with lots of down-time, waiting and then scrambling for key resources. ICEFLO helps optimise manpower utilisation and deliver overall efficiencies, protecting staff from lengthy over runs. In addition, ICEFLO allows teams to learn from each rehearsal cycle, capturing any issues that emerge quickly and effectively, minimising the financial costs associated with an increased cutover duration.

With a decade of experience, the ICEFLO team are on-hand to provide continued support and guidance throughout the entire cutover journey. We regularly release updated versions of ICEFLO, to meet the needs of our clients and to evolve with changing technology.

Established in 2008 by Andy and Jackie Smith, ICEFLO is an award-winning collaboration platform that allows clients to build, rehearse, deploy and review technology cutover plans. ICEFLO was originally created in St Boswells in the Scottish Borders but has since expanded into several global locations. With offices in Edinburgh, Amsterdam, London and Dubai, ICEFLO meets the needs of its globally dispersed client base.

In its infancy, Agenor technology (ICEFLO’s parent company) helped clients to manage projects primarily via traditional methods such as spreadsheets, phone calls and emails. However, visibility was poor, communication with stakeholders was arduous and it was difficult to predict and mitigate looming risks. ICEFLO was developed in response to these challenges, offering a solution that would bring visibility, support global collaboration, and give early warning of potential problems in complex IT cutovers. ICEFLO provides a greatly reduced risk to service, eliminating service outages.

ICEFLO has an established client base in the UK, Europe and Middle East. The majority of clients are large financial institutions including Lloyds Banking Group, ABN Amro, Royal Bank of Scotland, and First Abu Dhabi Bank.

Over the past decade, ICEFLO has been awarded several accolades, including recognition as a ‘Cool Vendor in DevOps’ by Gartner. ICEFLO recently achieved a significant product milestone, announcing integration with ServiceNow Incident Management.
