Ecometrica’s platform enables companies to accurately calculate and report greenhouse gas emissions. It also collects a diverse, geo-referenced data set, which goes beyond traditional sustainability reporting to include Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s scopes 1, 2 and 3, and other key corporate indicators such as water, forests, and TCFD metrics – not only looking at a company’s climate impact but the climate’s impact on them.

Established in 2008 by Dr Richard Tipper MBE (a Nobel Peace Prize winner for his contribution to the 2007 IPCC report), Gary Davis and Bertrand Revenaz to enable business, government and society to reach their sustainability goals, transition to a low carbon economy and build resilience for the future.
Ecometrica was founded to enable businesses and governments to accurately calculate their climate impact. The founders, with their background in greenhouse gas accounting and climate legislation, were clear about one thing, the calculations needed to be accurate. Over the years, as the software platform developed to enable increasingly complex and sophisticated calculations in line with new legislation, Ecometrica has become renowned for delivering the gold standard of greenhouse gas accounting. The extensive emission factor database which powers the platform is kept rigorously up to date and analysts, who have spent decades studying and working in GHG accounting, ensure the calculations are correct. Always with an eye on the future, the founders believe in transparency. They wanted the platform to be auditable once climate legislation became mandatory, and to that end, for the last decade, have invited PwC to audit the platform on an annual basis.
